Paragliding in Heraklion should be on the top of your list if you are visiting the island. There's no better sensation than flying over the amazing landscapes of Crete and the ancient Minoan ruins.

You will be flying attached to a certified paragliding instructor, Yannis, who will be showing you around the area of Heraklion. A safe and fun activity for all!

Yannis, your instructor, has been flying for years over the mountains of Crete. A local Cretan with great knowledge, and previous member of the national paragliding team, he will make sure you fly in safety while flying.

Paragliding is quite easy. All you need to do is a few steps, and, harnessed to your instructor, you will both be in the air, flying smoothly over Heraklion. Your instructor will be taking care of the glide while you will be seeing the great Minoan ruins of Heraklion, the city and the coastline behind the port of Heraklion. In the end, you will land smoothly on the beach.

The take-off point is at Avdou, Heraklion, in between Heraklion and Malia. From the top of the mountain, you will be taking off, taking profit from the thermal winds that will make you reach heights of 600 m. You will land on the beach thereafter, ready for some swimming.

Amazing feeling of gliding over the tops of the mountains, wasn’t scary at all, would definitely recommend people try it! (Although if you have lotion sickness then take a paracetamol or travel pill before you do it)
