Practical information
The descent of the Sella River will take you from Arriondas to Llovio, a 15 km. run of an easy level.
Course of events
- Meet the team and receive a safety briefing with the basic paddling instructions from the instructors.
- Get equipped with your kayak, paddle, life jacket, and waterproof container for personal items.
- Begin the 15 km kayak descent from Arriondas to Llovio, near Ribadesella, navigating a calm but wild section of the Sella River.
- Along the way, take breaks to swim, rest or enjoy a picnic in designated riverbank areas.
- Complete the descent in approximately 4 hours, depending on your pace.
- Return to the base with the included transport service.
Activity requirements
All participants must be able to swim.
All minors must be accompanied by their parents.
Children must be at least 1.15m or taller.

Kayaking is one of the best ways to discover any major body of water. Paddling on the Sella River will allow you to completely disconnect from your daily life and to witness the breathtaking beauty of Asturias.
The kayak descent of the Sella River is one of the most fun activities you can experience. Jaire Aventura will take from the town of Arriondas to Llovio right next to Ribadesella. This stretch of the river is 15 km long and quite easy, yet you must always be alert since you'll be in the wild kayaking on a river.
This excursion can be done by yourself on a single kayak or if you want to share the experience with someone, you can choose a tandem kayak, it's up to you! If you are a complete beginner, the instructors will teach you how to use the kayak, you'll be moving in no time!
If you are up for the challenge, the descent of the Sella will be the perfect way to spend the day in Asturias. While kayaking you'll be able to soak in all the beauty of the region, take a break and cool off in the river, or maybe have a picnic. Since the activity lasts for 4 hours, you'll have time to do a lot of things!
