About the activity

The highest peak of the Stubai Alps, the Zuckerhütl rises to 3,507 metres in Tyrol. Offering an ideal challenge for mountain hiking enthusiasts, this guided trek combines both alpine hiking and glacier travel. With a professional mountain guide and a very small group size (3 participants per guide), you will explore this environment safely in a friendly and authentic atmosphere.

To begin your guided hike on the Stubai Glacier, you will meet your guide in the valley, where the day’s itinerary will be presented and all necessary glacier equipment provided (crampons, helmet, ice axe and harness). You will then take the cable car up to the alpine terrain, where the hike begins across varied ground including rock, scree and glacier sections. At the summit, you will be rewarded with exceptional panoramic views over the Tyrolean Alps.

If you are looking for a demanding hike in Tyrol, this 11 km route with 900 m of elevation gain will meet your expectations. With its varied terrain, this hike via the Zuckerhütl offers a unique opportunity to try glacier hiking near Innsbruck. Between technical sections, ever-changing landscapes and the thrill of reaching over 3,500 metres, every step brings a new perspective on the raw beauty of the Stubai Alps.
