Set off on a rafting adventure on the Saalach River, crossing class 2 and 3 rapids for maximum thrills!
The 105 km Saalach River stretches from the Tyrol, where it rises in the Austrian Alps, to Bavaria, where it joins the Salzach River. But it is on the stretch between the town of Au and Lake Saalach that you can enjoy rafting, in both Austria and Germany, through class 2 to 3 rapids, depending on the water level. Whether with family or friends, rafting on the Saalach River offers an incredible outdoor adventure in small groups of 6 aboard the same raft (apart from the instructor) over a course of varying length depending on your preferences!
The team at Outdoor Center Baumgarten offers a choice of 2 rafting courses on the Saalach River: an 11.5 km course (approx. 1.5 hours) open from the age of 10 and a 24 km course (2.5 to 3 hours) open from the age of 12. Apart from the minimum age, the only prerequisites are knowing how to swim and being in good physical condition to successfully navigate the rapids along the way! You will need to work well as a group aboard your raft, under the guidance of the instructor who will accompany you and ensure your safety throughout the rafting trip. You are sure to have some great memories of the experience, with lots of laughs and splashes.
Providing all the equipment you need for the activity (wetsuits, helmets, paddles, etc.) as well as transport from the base to the river, this rafting tour on the Saalach River assures you of a great time!
