PADI Scuba Diving Course on the island of Faial, Azores

The PADI Open Water Diver course consist of three phases:

• Knowledge development (5 theoretical modules carried out through eLearning).
• Confined water dives to learn basic scuba skills (5 modules in a pool, which will be grouped into a single or double session according to the logistics).
• Open water dives to practice the skills and explore different dive sites (4 dives in the sea in Faial island, Azores, carried out over two days).

Throughout your scuba diving training you will learn:

• Scuba diving equipment preparation and care
• Basic safety rules and problem management
• Scuba diving skills (scuba regulator recovery, scuba mask clearing, buoyancy control, among others)
• Buddy system
• Dive planning
• Underwater navigation

All participants under 18 must provide written parental consent.

You need to be able to swimming autonomously and need to be in good physical health.

No prior experience with scuba diving is required, but you can try it first through the Discover Scuba Diving programme.

Please note that you must bring a medical certificate from your GP dated within the last 3 months stating that you are allowed to practice this activity.

Scuba diving lessons are usually done in three days and can be scheduled on dates already defined or any other date to be agreed with the participants during working hours or after work. The course is done with only one participant without any extra cost.

For this activity, you must not have any of the following contraindications (respiratory problems (exertional asthma), heart problems, ENT problems, lung problems, diabetes or epilepsy). If you have any doubts, don't hesitate to contact us or ask for medical advice.

Please note that you cannot fly for 24 hours after your last scuba dive.
