One of the most emblematic animals in North America awaits you on this incredible visit to a herd of bison in the Laurentians, at the heart of Quebec's first and only Athabascaes wood bison reserve. Imposing and magnificent, these bovids are under threat these days, which is why the Kanatha Aki Nature Activity Centre created this reserve not only to protect them but also to introduce the curious to them and raise awareness of their cause.

Ideal for children and all animal lovers, this experience of seeing bison in Quebec is not to be missed in the Laurentians. You will have the pleasure of observing these superb animals in their natural environment, in a large area combining plain and forest. The guide accompanying you will call the herd to give them their meal, offering you a unique spectacle as they come down the mountain. Then it will be time to enjoy the close company of the bison, with commentary from your guide who will be delighted to tell you all about them.

Now you know that if you want to see bison near Montreal (1.5-hour drive) or Mont-Tremblant (30-minute drive), you have to go to Val-des-Lacs, to the Kanatha Aki nature centre to visit their herd of bison in the Laurentians!
