Course of events
Please allow 1 hour 30 minutes on site for the whole experience.
- Arrive at the park pavilion and take part in an activity presentation (15 to 30 minutes; free parking nearby)
- Receive your safety briefing, instructions, and equipment (helmet, headlamp, harness)
- Walk to the cave entrance (5-minute approach)
- Explore the cave underground for approximately 1 hour, including standing passages, narrow galleries, crawling sections, handrail-assisted areas, and ladder descents
- Return to the starting point with access to changing rooms and toilets
- End of activity
Objectives
An introduction to caving: the equipment you'll need, how to light your way and move underground, the scientific concepts behind the subterranean environment, and understanding the role of caverns in our ecosystem.
Activity requirements
You need to be able to move around unaided to take part in this activity.
You must also comply with the harness dimensions below. If these requirements are not met, you will not be able to take part in the activity:
- Minimum height: 110 cm
- Maximum waist size for harness: 120 cm
Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
Go to the park's reception pavilion (red-roofed building) at least 15 minutes in advance and contact the Spéléo Québec guides. They may be underground when you arrive.
A minimum of 3 participants is required for the activity to take place.
Special terms
This activity is not accessible to people with motor disabilities or pregnant women.
All participants must sign a liability waiver on site. The tour takes place in all weathers, except extreme weather conditions.
Bring warm clothes that you are prepared to get dirty in, as the cave is a muddy environment. It's important to expect to come into contact with mud during your visit. You should wear rain boots or, failing that, closed shoes that can get wet. Gloves are also recommended. Sandals, crocs and shoes that do not fit properly or protect the toes are strictly forbidden. We strongly suggest that you bring a change of clothes for after the activity.
Pets are not allowed to take part in this activity.
