This 3km² park lies in the heart of a canyon formed by the Métabetchouane river, about 1 hour's drive from Saguenay. There, you'll find forests, waterfalls, cascades and even a cave.

With this hiking activity, you'll have access to the immersive experience of the Trou de la Fée park. Backed by sound effects and lighting effects, this experience will take you through the major events that have marked the park's history in a room carved out of the granite of the Canadian Shield. In this natural amphitheatre, 7 metres high and 16 metres in diameter, the projection will be shown in 360 degrees, giving you a real sense of immersion in the evolution of the land and its occupation.

After discovering the history of the Trou de la Fée park, you can continue your day hiking in its unspoilt natural surroundings. The site offers 5 hiking trails in Desbiens: at the Métabetchouane river canyon, at the junction of the 3 waterfalls, along the banks of a stream or simply in the woods. If you wish, you can also admire aerial views of the Métabetchouane River, Martine Falls and the entire park landscape from the footbridge trails!

Hiking in the Parc du Trou de la Fée is accessible to all, and will allow you to enjoy Quebec's nature while having fun. Whether you're with family or friends, you'll have a great time in the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region! Practical information

Here are the 5 hikes in the Trou de la Fée park:

The Cavern Trail - 1.64 km

This trail leads directly to the cavern. The view of the Métabetchouane River canyon is breathtaking.


The 3 Falls Loop - 1.76 km

This forest trail is narrower but very accessible.


From the 3 falls only - 2.74 km

This trail takes you to the junction where three waterfalls come together to form an impressive whirlpool of water.


Cavern and 3 falls - 3.41 km

A beautiful hike that lets you appreciate the variety of landscapes on the site.


De la Coulée verte - 0.57 km

This trail is aptly named, as it runs alongside a stream with lush green undergrowth. Several species of fern can be seen along the way.

Special terms

The Trou de la Fée park is open from 9am to 7pm from 16 June to 21 August and from 10am to 6pm from 22 August to 9 October 2023.

This activity is not accessible to people with reduced mobility.

The immersive show is shown every 30 minutes in the reception pavilion in the basement. It is forbidden to eat in the immersive show presentation room.

You can go zip-lining for an additional cost to be paid on site.
