If you're looking for an authentic, local experience from Lovran near Opatija, fishing in Kvarner Bay could be for you! Accompanied by a specialist fishing captain, set off on a boat in the Adriatic and try to catch fish like a local!

To begin this fishing activity in the Bay of Kvarner, you'll take the boat in Lovran and head for Medveja. There, the captain will explain how to fish before guiding you for around 2.5 hours of fishing in Kvarner Bay, near the wreck of the "Striker" boat.

During the fishing session, you will use the "Bulletin" technique and a Dacron fishing rod with 3 hooks and lead. The type of bait used will depend on the season (mainly sardines, squid or mussels). As for catches, they will depend on many factors, but most of the fish caught near Medveja are between 150g (0.3lb) and 0.5kg (1.1lb). On one occasion, a 6kg (13.2lb) sea eel was caught!
