This excursion begins at the meeting point in Rovaniemi (pickup is available from specified locations upon booking). You will meet your experienced guide and receive a safety briefing and introduction to snowshoeing. This hike is easy and family-friendly, so no previous experience is needed. The group will also be small, with a maximum of 8 participants. This allows the tour and the route to be adapted to the group's ability. Once you decide on the plan for the day with the guide, the adventure begins!

You will set off from Rovaniemi into the magnificent surrounding snow-covered forests. Accompanied by your guide, you will explore the beauties of the environment, and learn more about the trees, plants, their properties and wildlife. This tour aims to be very educational, the guide will share their knowledge and passion about the nature of Lapland. You may spot some animals or their footprints in the snow around you, such as; wolves, lynx, wolverines, moose, reindeer, weasels, Arctic hares and many more!

Midway through the excursion, you will break to build a roaring campfire. The guide will also teach you some survival skills for living in the frozen Arctic temperatures. They will show you how to build a fire using just flint and steel. Hot drinks and a typical Finnish campfire snack will be served, while your guide shares insights about the history of the area. After you have enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere, you will snowshoe back to the starting point and return to Rovaniemi.
