Water Tubing on the Etang de Berre at Istres

From thrills to laughter, water tubing is a must-do water sports activity this summer. But did you know that, near Marseille, you can also go water tubing on the Etang de Berre, far from the crowds of Mediterranean beaches? This 15,500-hectare lagoon offers all the space you need for the activity, with the advantage of being swell-free, so you can enjoy the experience in complete safety, even if you fall overboard!

This water tubing session on the Etang de Berre starts from the Romaniquette Beach in Istres, at the Maora Jetgliss water sports centre, which has a car park, changing rooms, showers, etc., all for your comfort. Depending on the number of people in your group and the sensations you are looking for, the team offers different types of buoys:

• the banana boat - between 3 and 6 participants can sit astride this banana-shaped buoy;
• the double banana boat - these are 2 banana boats glued together for between 5 and 10 participants;
• the sofa buoy - comfortable, 2 to 4 participants can sit on it just like on a sofa;
• the Airstream buoy - for maximum thrills, this buoy is mounted flat on the stomach and can accommodate between 2 and 4 participants (the boat can tow 2 of these buoys at the same time!);
• The Racecar buoy - on the stomach or astride a straddle, this buoy too offers maximum thrills for 4 to 10 participants.
