Introduction to Rock Climbing near Vars, La Forêt Blanche

An activity open to all outdoor enthusiasts from the age of 5, this introduction to rock climbing near Vars is the perfect way to discover this sport with family or friends. In small groups of no more than 8 participants, you will have the pleasure of learning not only how to climb a natural rock face, on 3 routes prepared in advance by your instructor, but also how to belay a climber. All the equipment you need for the activity will be provided, as well as professional supervision from the Pure Snowschool instructor, who will ensure your safety throughout the experience. All in all, you will spend around 2.5 hours discovering rock climbing near Vars, so you will have plenty of time to learn all the basics of the sport!

This outing will take place between Panacelle and Mont-Dauphin, just 20~30 minutes' drive from Vars. There are several outdoor climbing sites in the area, with superb views of the Alps from the top of the routes. So you can enjoy both a fun sporting activity and magnificent scenery between 4 mountain ranges in the Hautes-Alpes: the Ecrins, Queyras, Parpaillon and Escreins! Depending on where you go, you will find yourself at an altitude of around 1,200 metres, with the chance of spotting marmots or chamois in the surrounding mountains.
