About the activity

Discover the authenticity of the island of Raiatea during a one day boat trip on its lagoon and its river Faaroa!

Faaroa Cruise's local guides will take you on a boat ride on the Raiatea lagoon to discover not only its paradisiacal landscapes worthy of the Polynesian islands, but also its culture and history through the sharing of their knowledge, as well as the visit of the Taputapuatea marae.

The beginning of this boat trip will be on the lagoon of Raiatea and its beautiful turquoise waters, then on the Faaroa River, the only navigable river in all of Polynesia! The motorized pirogue will then go along a jungle full of rich fauna and flora, as well as some villages that will allow you to observe the daily life of the inhabitants of Raiatea. The next part of the trip will be to the Taputapuatea marae, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Once the visit to the marae of Taputapuatea is over, you will be able to enjoy a relaxing moment on a motu of the Raiatea lagoon: swimming in the lagoon, but also a barbecue if you opt for the boat trip with lunch! Nuestros guías fueron muy amables, hospitalarios y muy proactivos con trasladarnos conocimiento sobre la cultura polinesia. Visitamos el Marae Taputapuatea, un lugar increíble, en el cual nuestro guía nos hizo una amplia explicación y aprendimos mucho sobre la importancia del lugar y Raiatea. Luego nos adentramos en el río Faroa, una experiencias a única y muy recomendable, vimos un jardín botánico y fuimos a almorzar a un Motu. Recomiendo al 100% esta actividad en Raiatea y de nuevo gracias a nuestros guías :)
