Discover Scuba Diving at Marathonissi Island & Keri Caves in Zakynthos

Zakynthos (Zante) is a stunning Greek island in the Ionian Sea, renowned for its crystal-clear waters, pristine beaches, and coastal vibe. Scuba diving in Zakynthos is an incredible experience, thanks to its excellent visibility and unique dive sites!

For this excursion, you'll start by meeting your PADI-certified instructor at the dive centre in Laganas. When booking, you can choose to partake in one or two dives. Upon arrival, you'll receive the scuba diving equipment (mask, snorkel, fins, wetsuit, BCD, regulator, tank, and weights) and learn the basics of this thrilling sport from the instructor. The guide will go through a lesson about the equipment and scuba diving rules. Then, you'll board a small boat and set sail from ​Agios Sostis Port, a charming harbour located on the southern coast of Zakynthos.

During the boat trip to ​Marathonisi Island, you'll enjoy magnificent views of Zante's rugged coastline. ​Located in Laganas Bay, Marathonisi, also called 'Turtle Island', is an uninhabited islet renowned for its role as a nesting ground for the endangered loggerhead sea turtle (Caretta caretta). The boat will navigate fascinating sea caves while you spot the beautiful Caretta caretta from the vessel. Then, you'll enter the sea and practice some underwater skills in very shallow waters. Once you feel comfortable, the first dive at Marathonisi Island begins!

Feel the exhilarating sensation of breathing underwater as you explore the magnificent ecosystem at Turtle Island. You'll peacefully observe the rich marine life, including turtles, and discover underwater rock formations and other landscapes. Afterwards, you'll return to the boat. If you choose the 2-dive experience, you'll sail to the Keri Caves for your second dive. These sea caves are renowned for their striking blue waters and impressive rock formations. Following the guide's instructions, you'll dive at Keri Caves and discover the abundant marine life. Then, you'll head back to the boat and return to the starting point in Zakynthos.
