Water biking, also known as aquatic cycling, is a unique activity that is both original and environmentally friendly. The concept? As the name suggests, it involves pedalling on water while sitting on the saddle of a bicycle frame mounted on 2 floats. So if you would rather pedal than row a canoe or kayak through the mangroves of Guadeloupe, the water bike in Petit-Canal is for you! The size of the bike allows you to get as close as possible to the mangroves without making any noise, making it ideal for avoiding disturbing the local wildlife. Between the underwater life and the many birds that thrive in this ecosystem, with a bit of luck, you are bound to have some great encounters!
The Soleil et Découverte team is waiting for you at the port of Petit-Canal, halfway between Morne-à-l'Eau and Port-Louis. You will have both solo and tandem water bikes at your disposal, so there is something for everyone, from those who prefer to pedal alone to those who want to take part as a duo. A local guide will accompany you throughout the excursion, showing you the way and sharing lots of information about the local flora and fauna. If you feel like it, you can even use binoculars to try to spot the birds hiding in the mangroves! The aim is for you to make the most of this fun and educational outing, in the heart of Guadeloupe's nature along the west coast of Grande-Terre and the Grand Cul-de-sac marin Nature Reserve.
The perfect combination of low-intensity physical activity and discovery tour, this guided water bike excursion in Petit-Canal will delight adults and children alike (from the age of 6). So whether you are a family, a couple or a group of friends, don't hesitate to try a new experience and embark on this water bike outing near Morne-à-l'Eau and Port-Louis!
