Discover one of the most beautiful natural sights near Vík by heading to the Kötlujökull glacier to visit the Katla ice cave!

The Ice Cave of Katla, one of Iceland's largest and most active volcanoes, is a surprisingly colourful cave to visit near Vík í Mýrdal. Located on the edge of the Katla volcano and the Mýrdalsjökull ice cap, it is only accessible by super jeep and offers a short caving excursion between walls of varying shades of blue to black!

Comfortably seated in the guide's vehicle, you will travel to the Kötlujökull glacier, the south-eastern part of Mýrdalsjökull, and enjoy a guided tour of Katla ice cave lasting around 40 minutes. At the end of the tour, which includes free time to explore the cave at your own pace, you will walk around the cave for a few minutes to see if it is possible to visit another one, as a few small caves may form from time to time in the vicinity: now is the time to extend this caving trip to Katla cave!

Les grottes sont magnifiques et les couleurs incroyables (bleus/noirs). Nous avons pu faire de magnifiques photos sur le glacier avant l'activité. Par contre, nous étions nombreux.
