About the activity

If the sea, the underwater world, and marine species fascinate you, scuba diving is the sport for you! We can't think of a better experience than learning to scuba dive in Madeira amongst groupers, manta rays, and other amazing fish. Furthermore, due to its location in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, Madeira has a good temperature both in and out of the water all year round, so you can dive there all year round!

Azul Diving Center Madeira is located in Funchal and has SSI and PADI-certified instructors to teach you the best diving techniques. Three days will be enough for you to become a diving professional in waters up to a maximum depth of 18 metres (60 feet) worldwide.

So, what does this open water scuba diving course in Madeira consist of?

The diving course at Azul Diving Center Madeira consists of 5 theoretical lessons with an instructor, 5 practical sessions in the natural pool of Quinta do Lorde, and after all this preparation... 4 open-water dives! On the last day, you will get an Open Water Diver certificate that you will be able to use to dive around the world.

Remember that, when scuba diving in Madeira, you will need a certificate from your doctor saying you are allowed to take part in this activity. Not to mention that you should not be pregnant, or suffer from heart, respiratory, or back problems. Additionally, you should know how to swim independently, and not fly at all, at least 12 hours after your last dive.

With all this in mind, take your chance to learn to scuba dive in open waters on the coast of Funchal, Madeira! You won't regret it.
