Come and admire the seabed in the south of Martinique with Le Marin's exploration dives... reserved for Level 1 diving graduates (minimum)!

With a Level 1 diving certificate (minimum), how would you like to conquer the aquatic landscape of southern Martinique? During exploration dives at Le Marin, accompanied by an experienced, qualified instructor, come and discover the rich fauna and flora of the coral reef in the Caribbean Sea!

Exploration also means guided visits to several spots... from Sainte-Anne in the east to the Rocher du Diamant in the west, the choice is yours! So, whether you're a morning person or not, you can enjoy a single dive or even a double dive for added pleasure, with the only restriction being the air in your tank.

What's more, the south of Martinique is full of dive sites that are accessible depending on the weather conditions and your level of diving, which is why Immersion Caraïbes offers you a wide range of dive spots for exploration dives in Le Marin:

Pointe Borgnèse

This site is accessible to everyone, from beginners to experienced divers. Here, the anchorage close to the coast offers a sheltered area ideal for beginners. The shallow depth below the boat (4/5m) and the turquoise water, studded with darker patches of coral, invite divers to get away from it all, without restricting their discovery of Martinique's seabed.

Note: beginners will enjoy staying on the plateau amidst swarms of small coral fish (castagnoles, damselflies, juvenile gorettes, etc.).

Caye des Boucaniers

This site is accessible to all, although the surface is more exposed and the sea is often rough. Here, beginners dive on the shallow plateau, at the edge of a drop-off richly populated by a jumble of multicoloured sponges (yellow, purple, orange and blue). It's not uncommon to come across species such as king angelfish or French angelfish, as well as large paddlefish!

And don't forget: on the 12-metre deep plateau you'll find a compact ball of yellow pike-perch in a tightly packed row.

The Aquarium

This is an interesting and well-populated site, making it an ideal spot for PE12 and Level 1 divers!

In the 7 to 15 m zone, you'll see schools of gorettes galore, stealthy king mackerel passing by, maniocs wandering through the water and even trumpet fish on the lookout for their meal!

And don't forget to poke around in the holes, where you might find lobsters!

The 3 Valleys

Is a site for certified divers, from 10 m to 40 m! Here, the coral garden slopes gently downwards, with large coral spats along the sandy slopes.

Please note: the descent under the boat often takes place in the middle of banks of manioc, and curious kingfish pass by again and again along the dive.

Ti' Mur/Voilier

This site is accessible to all. Here, the descent takes place under the boat, for around ten metres to the plateau, close to the drop-off. The start of the drop-off is well marked and steep, then gently slopes down over 20 metres.

Note: on the outward journey, you will walk along the ‘wall’ in search of lobsters, moray eels and lambi... but don't forget to look up to see king mackerel, barracudas and maniocs passing overhead! Finally, you'll cut across the plateau to head off in search of shoals of paddlefish and gilthead wrasse, to make the most of this spot's rich biodiversity!

Jardin Bleu

This is a site for experienced divers, from 19 m to 40 m.
Here, the descent is into the blue under the boat at 19 m where you will encounter a sandy plateau with large coral spats! Then, nearby, a shoal of platax will meet the divers! Shoals of manioc and bogues whiz by, but watch out for the many lion fish!

And don't forget: at a depth of 14 m, a small, gutted wreck of a modern sailing boat is home to goldfish (mombins).

Jardin de Sainte-Luce

This is a remarkable site off Sainte-Luce, renowned for the diversity of its coral! Here, the 7-metre anchorage at plateau level offers diving for all levels. Schools of manioc swim past, king mackerel follow one another in the open water, and the mounds of coral and large gorgonian fans are impressive!

Caye Philippeau

This site is located off Sainte-Luce in Martinique. Here, the anchorage on the plateau allows you to descend 10 metres, and the proximity of the drop-off means that divers of all levels can stay within their prerogatives from 10 to 50 metres: there's a zone for everyone!

Note: sometimes, for the luckiest divers, you may come across stingrays ‘flying’ at the bottom of the drop-off. What's more, this area is renowned for the large and beautiful barracudas that swim around.

A little bonus: for all exploration dives in Le Marin, souvenir photos and videos are free! To collect them, remember to bring a USB key or SD card!
