Drive your quad through deep valleys and up high mountains and take a break to visit some of Svalbard's huskies and pups on the way!
The season of the midnight sun is the perfect time to venture into the valleys of Svalbard to take in the views and observe some wildlife. Driving your own ATV (with children above 8 able to join behind a licensed driver), you and your guide will borrow the main roads of the island, exploring the tundra at your own pace.
You will be picked up from your accommodation in and around Longyearbyen and taken to the base, where your guide will equip you with thermal overalls, mittens, balaclavas, boots, and helmets to keep you safe and warm during the journey. Your guide will provide hot drinks and snacks for the journey, so all you need with you is your driver's license, camera and some warm thermal underwear and sweaters.
Then, you will set off in the direction of Advent Valley. The stretch of land you will roam is home to a lot of Svalbard's terrestrial wildlife, including the Arctic birds who migrate here for the Summer, the resident Svalbard reindeer, and polar foxes. Your guide will keep an eye out for these species, and point them out for you as you explore.
During the adventure, you will make a stop at Svalbard Husky dog yard, where you will be able to meet the huskies and their newest litter of puppies. The pups here are often named after films, books, and series, so don't be surprised if you get a lick from Obelix or a cuddle from Mr Charlie Chaplin himself. Your guide will serve you some coffee, tea, hot juice and biscuits at the same occasion, the perfect heartwarming break in the middle of the action. Once the huskies have quenched your need for fluffy affection, you will head back on your quads, rev up the engines, and head back to Longyearbyen. Book now for the perfect combination of thrill and furry love!
