About the activity

This horseback ride on the Piton Maïdo, suitable for beginners, is the ideal way to gently discover horse riding in the exceptional surroundings of Réunion Island. This experience is more than just a ride: you can prepare your horse beforehand, give him a drink and share a moment with him to create a real bond. No previous experience is required - all you need is to be in good physical condition to enjoy the ride!

Piton Maïdo is one of Réunion's most famous mountain peaks, rising to an altitude of around 2,200 metres and dominating the Mafate cirque. On the trails up this mountain, you can admire the unspoilt nature of Réunion Island, between the lush green mountains on one side and the superb sandy beaches of the west coast of Saint-Paul and its lagoon on the other. Your horseback ride on the Piton Maïdo takes place in a forest of Cryptomerias, on unspoilt paths. For 1 hour 20 minutes, you'll enjoy the ride under the guidance of your professional and experienced instructor. The ride will be mainly at a walk but trotting may be offered if all riders are comfortable.

Also available at sunset, this horseback ride in Réunion is the ideal opportunity to admire this natural phenomenon from breathtaking vantage points. If the weather is clear, the sunset over the Maïdo massif will offer you incredible colours over the ocean. Balade et découverte agréable et sympathique ! ca offrait une perspective nouvelle. Mon cheval était un peu capricieux... mais bon, ca se commande pas ca ! La monitrice était très patiente et présente.
