Course of events
6:30 - Departure from residence
8:30 am - The Langevin River in Saint-Joseph with the sumptuous Cascade Grand Galet, also known as Cascade Langevin.
10:00 am - Marine Langevin and its chasms, Cascade Jacqueline (swimming possible)
12h00 - Cap Méchant in Saint-Philippe, where ancient lava flows have formed a cliff that plunges into the sea.
Lunch: choice of picnic, snack or Creole restaurant Le Cap Méchant
1:45 pm - Route des laves in the Enclos du Grand Brulé, passing over lava flows of 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005 and stopping at the 2007 flow.
2:45 pm - Notre Dame des Laves church in Sainte-Rose, which was encircled by lava flows during the 1977 eruption.
15:30 - L'Anse des Cascades, a magnificent site with several waterfalls
5:30 pm - Grand Anse beach, sunset (optional sunset aperitif) on the island's only coconut beach, with an old lime kiln (weather permitting).

Aboard a van, set off to discover Reunion Island's southern region in the heart of unspoilt, protected nature. Start your day's tour at the Rivière Langevin in Saint-Joseph, and contemplate the sublime Cascade Grand Galet, with its idyllic turquoise water basin in the middle of a lush gorge.
On this guided tour of Reunion Island, you'll travel along the mythical Route des laves that crosses the south of the country, a unique landscape shaped over decades by the volcanic eruptions that have shaken the country. You'll see the remains of the 2007 eruption of the century, the most impressive lava flows in the country. You'll also stop off at the Church of Notre Dame des Laves and its lava flow, which descends right down to the entrance to the site.
If the weather cooperates, your guided tour of Reunion Island by van will end at Grand Anse beach, a pretty beach lined with coconut palms. You'll feel like you're on an island paradise, and you'll be able to admire a magnificent sunset!
