Rent a stand-up paddle for 2 hours on your own in the Kabeljous Lagoon, an exceptional natural site north of Jeffreys Bay!
With its calm waters cut off from the ocean swell by a sandbank, the Kabeljous Lagoon is an ideal site for stand-up paddling at Jeffreys Bay, less than a 50-minute drive from Port Elizabeth. As well as offering ideal sailing conditions, this unspoilt area offers a magnificent natural setting for paddling through forests, wetlands and bushveld. If you are lucky, in addition to many birds, such as the pink flamingo, you may even spot larger animals such as the grysbok, the bushbuck, the mongoose, the caracal or the bushpig!
Renting a stand up paddle in the Kabeljous nature reserve is an experience for anyone aged 16 or over, as paddling a SUP board requires more effort than sea kayaking. But if you have never done stand-up paddling before, that is no problem! The team that will be handing out your equipment on site will also offer you a short SUP navigation lesson before you set off into the lagoon, giving you all the basics you need to enjoy your tour with complete confidence. You will then have 2 hours of free time to discover the Kabeljous Lagoon by stand up paddle, at your own pace and without a set itinerary.
Located north of Jeffreys Bay, the Kabeljous Nature Reserve is a must-see if you are staying in the area. So if you would like to visit the reserve in an original way, with no negative impact on the environment and without disturbing the local flora and fauna, don't miss out on renting a SUP board in the Kabeljous Lagoon!
