Paddle, boulder, cliff jump, and glide on an inner tube down the Storms River in Tsitsikamma National Park, near Plettenberg Bay!

Tsitsikamma National Park is a coastal reserve along South Africa’s Garden Route that is known for its lush forests and dramatic coastline where the mountains meet the ocean. It is in the incredible natural environment that you will experience an unforgettable adventure during this hydrospeed canyon tour starting from Storms River village. This is tubing like never seen before: not your typical ‘float down a lazy river’ kind of tubing, but the swim, climb, jump, and slide down a waterfall kind!

To begin your hydrospeed river tour, you will first embark on a scenic forest drive from Storms River village to the Goesa Nature Reserve. After a safety briefing and getting properly equipped by your guides, you will then head down a steep trail into the gorge to the river’s edge. Following your expert guides, you will spend the next few hours exploring your way down the river through narrow gorge walls, natural rock slides, a bit of white water and spectacular scenery!

The tour ends at the end of the river, where the canyon opens out to the sea for one last majestic view to take away with you! Then it is a quick walk to the shuttle and a ride back to Storms River Village to finish your day of hydrospeeding by Plettenberg Bay! This is a great activity to do among family and friends – as long as you are above 12 years old and are fit enough for the bouldering/hiking sections! In the capable hands of your guides, you will be able to enjoy hydrospeeding in this unique environment and experience thrilling sensations while you are at it!

Great experience. Even though I am 65 years old, I made it thanks to great help of Lolo and the second instructor. They both did a great job! Remember, once you start, there is no way back!

The activity is nice and the instructors were great! Inspite of us wearing the wetsuits it was too cold. It was about 13°C outside.
