Practical information
On this self-drive dog sledding excursion, you'll be driven from Alta to Gargia Forest. You'll drive your own team of huskies in pairs under the Northern Lights, with one driver and one passenger and the chance to switch midway.
- Arrive at the meeting point in Alta
- Drive to Gargia Lodge (approximately 30 minutes)
- Receive Arctic clothing and dog sledding instructions
- Meet the Huskies and set up the sled
- The dog sledding adventure begins!
- Drive your own team of dogs on the Finnmarksvidda plateau (approximately 50 minutes)
- Admire the Northern Lights
- Return to Gargia Lodge
- Enjoy hot drinks
- Return drive to the starting point in Alta (approximately 30 minutes)
Please note that as the Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon, their presence can never be guaranteed.
