Many people assosiate Stockholm with minimalist Scandinavian design, the Swedish Royal Palace, and sub-zero temperatures. While the city certainly has all of those things, there are many things to explore Stockholm!
When visiting Sweden's capital, most travelers make a point of exploring the the oldest heart of the city, known as Old Town and Gamla Stan. Founded in the 13th century, Stockholm boasts an impressive and diverse array of architecture from Medieval to Neoclassical, Art Deco and the resolutely modern. Distinctly Scandinavian in style, many of the historic buildings are painted in various shades of ochre.
Stockholm, the Venice of the North
The city is made up of 14 islands and is connected with over 50 bridges, making it so picturesque that you almost feel as if you're in a fairy tale! If you partake in any of these activities, you’re likely to be mistaken for an actual Swede, as it’s exactly what they do for fun as well!
The Birthplace of the Nobel Prize
