Canoeing and kayaking on the Rouge River is an incredible way to relax and enjoy nature in the Laurentians. It's an experience not to be missed near Mont-Tremblant. The Rouge River is 161 km long, rising at Lac de la Fougère and flowing through the Laurentians to join the Ottawa River between Ottawa and Montreal. Your canoe-kayak trip on the Rouge River will cover 12 km at La Conception, and will last half a day at your own pace!
This self-guided canoe-kayak trip down the Rivière Rouge generally takes between 2? and 4 hours, depending on how many breaks you take. You can hire either a canoe, a 2-seater boat into which a third person can squeeze by sitting on the ground, or a single-seater or double-seater kayak, which is more stable than a canoe.
