Practical information

Set off on a half-day hiking adventure through otherworldly Croatian landscapes: a surreal blend of moonlike terrain and breathtaking views over the blue Pag Bay and the Velebit Channel.

Course of events

Please allow approximately 3 hours for this activity.

Meet your guide at Ručica Beach (near Metajna) 15 minutes before departure.
Receive a safety briefing and an overview of the route.
Start the trail through a karst landscape along Pag Bay toward Beriknica Beach.
Continue toward Stogaj, a uniquely shaped rock formation.
Walk along the trail to Slana Bay, where you can enjoy a short swim break.
Reach Seline Bay, offering stunning views of the Velebit mountain and the Velebit Channel.
Return to the starting point via the same route.

Activity requirements

Please arrive 15 minutes before the departure time.
Being in good physical condition is required to take part in this activity (basic level of fitness). The trail is suitable for beginners.

Would you like to follow one of the most beautiful hiking trail in Croatia? Of course, the ‘Life on Mars’ trail is a must! This trail is located in Novalja, in the locality of Metajna, and takes you on a tour of the most beautiful beaches on the island of Pag.

Your hike will start at Ručica beach. The trail will take you along the karst landscape of the Pag Bay towards Beriknica Beach, one of the most beautiful on the island of Pag. You will then continue your hike towards Stogaj, a peculiarly shaped rock that attracts a large number of mountaineers.

Following your guide on the “Life on Mars” trail, you’ll continue hiking towards the Slana Bay, overlooked by remnants of a World War Two concentration camp, and the Seline Bay, which offers a wonderful view of the Podvelebit Channel. You will be able to enjoy a swimming break in one of those coves. Your guided hike near Novalja ends at its starting point : Ručica beach.

You’ll discover amazing views of the Adriatic sea and visit beautiful beaches of the island !
