Winter Hovercraft Excursion & Ice Floating near Helsinki

• Start at the Gumbostrand departure pier, either by arranging your own transport or using the hotel pick-up service from Helsinki.
• Get fitted at the hub with all necessary gear.
• Depart through the archipelago winter landscape via an ice-breaking steel boat, a hovercraft, or a combination of both depending on the ice and wind conditions.
• Stop on the thick, solid ice (conditions permitting) to take pictures, walk around, and experience the silence of the archipelago.
• Reach the base camp island for a guided nature trail walk to hear stories about the history of the islands.
• Put on the survival suits for the ice float. If the steel boat is used, you float in the broken ice lane left by the ship; otherwise, you float between ice rafts near the island.
• Stay in the water for 15–45 minutes (up to an hour) with an instructor's assistance.
• Enjoy lunch consisting of warm soup or a barbecue with coffee or tea for dessert on the island or at the ice edge.
• Take the 20-minute drive back to the mainland pier.
• End of activity.

No prior experience needed.

Participants do not need to know how to swim to take part in this activity.

All children must be accompanied by an adult.

This tour only operates with 2 or more people.

Hovercrafts or steel boats are both used on this tour according to the actual ice situation due to safety aspects. The means of transport can also change last minute if the ice conditions change. Change of transport does not affect the price and is not an object for refund or partial refund.
