This trip departs from Inari, a picturesque village located in Lapland, northern Finland. On your snowshoe hike from Inari, you'll walk close to Muotkatunturi, a breathtaking wilderness area known for its untouched natural beauty and remote tranquillity.

The snowshoe excursion from Inari begins with pick-up from your chosen location in the village (please specify when booking). The trip will be led by an experienced guide and local biologist. You'll be driven about 20 minutes outside of Inari village to the beautiful wilderness area. Along the way, you'll pass the marvellous Muddus Lake and Kettujok River. Upon arrival at the starting point, you'll receive the equipment (snowshoes and walking poles), and a safety briefing and instructions. No previous snowshoeing experience is required for this activity. Once everyone is prepared, the snowshoeing near Inari begins!

Following the guide, you'll traverse the untouched snow in one of Finland’s most pristine and least-visited wilderness regions. You'll hike through part of one of the oldest forests in Lapland and encounter unique Arctic landscapes, including rolling fells, open tundra, and winding rivers. As you venture deeper into the ancient woods, you may spot native wildlife species or their tracks, such as elk, mountain hares, pine grosbeaks, Siberian jays, and Siberian tits. The knowledgeable guide will share insights about the animals you encounter. After the snowshoeing tour in Inari, you'll enjoy hot drinks and local snacks around a campfire at a cosy kota (hut). The guide will continue to share interesting facts about Lapland and this remote region. Then, you'll be driven back to the starting point in Inari.
