Located only 1 hour and 45 minutes from Rovaniemi, Pyhä is a small town surrounded by stunning, wild Arctic landscapes, perfect for finding spots with untouched, fresh snow to slide down. Pyhä ski resort is considered one of the world's best freeriding destinations with seven distinctive freeriding areas.
On the day of your snow surfing experience in Pyhä-Luosto National Park, you will meet your guide at the Lucky Ranch Saloon in Pyhäntie. After a short safety briefing and thorough instructions on how to snow surf, you'll hike through Finland's oldest pine forest to reach one of 7 freeriding areas offering different types of terrain for complete beginners and up to even the most experienced rider.
Accompanied by an experienced mountain guide and fellow rider, you'll spend 2 hour exploring the untouched powder snow fields and forest tracks in Pyhä-Luosto National Park, mastering the basics of snowsurfing in some of the deepest snow you'll ever see! The only way in and out of this immense arctic forest is on foot, so be prepared to work up a sweat on the approach. And once you finish this wonderful experience, you'll return to the activity base for drinks and snacks with the team.
Operating during the winter season, from December to March, this backcountry excursion is suitable for anyone of good physical fitness with some freeride experience.
