Sign up for a wonderful combined adventure and immerse yourself in the Arctic night on this Northern Lights chase by snowmobile in Pyhäjärvi! Only around 90 minutes from Rovaniemi, Pyhäjärvi is a picturesque lakeside town situated in the heart of Finland, in the Lapland region. Surrounded by Arctic wilderness, this incredible place is perfect to experience all the wonders that winter in the Nordic countries has to offer. This includes observing the Northern Lights, which is a natural phenomenon that occurs thanks to the interaction between the Earth's atmosphere and some of the sun's particles and results in colourful, sometimes undulating lights appearing in the night sky. This phenomenon is only visible within the Arctic Circle and the area known as the Aurora Oval, and Pyhäjärvi is part of it.
On the day of your Northern Lights chase by snowmobile in Pyhäjärvi, you'll need to arrive directly at the Lucky Ranch Saloon to meet your instructor. There, they'll give you a quick safety briefing and distribute the equipment for the experience, which will include the Skidoo or Lynx snowmobiles with 4-stroke 600 cc engines, helmets, winter overalls, and boots. Once you're ready, the adventure will start!
You'll have a moment to adjust to the snowmobiles, and once you do, you'll venture into the Arctic night, following your instructor across forests, hills, and even the frozen Pyhäjärvi Lake. You'll get as far as possible from the city lights and keep your eyes on the sky in search of the elusive Northern Lights. Now, since the Aurora Borealis is a natural phenomenon, your instructor can't guarantee that you will see it during the excursion, but they will keep an eye on weather forecasts and take you to the places where it is usually visible. Midway through the excursion, you'll make a stop to rest, have a hot drink, and, if you've found them, admire the Northern Lights, before turning back to the original meeting point for the end of the excursion.
Keep in mind that this wonderful Northern Lights chase by snowmobile in Pyhäjärvi will take place out in the Arctic landscapes of Finnish Lapland. This means that temperatures can get as low as -10 and -20 degrees Celsius. With this in mind, you should come prepared with good winter apparel, including a warm wool or thermal base layer, more fleece or wool layers, a wind and waterproof jacket, woollen socks, a hat, a scarf, gloves, and anything else you might need (medication, extra layers, etc.) to spend an amazing 2.5 hours safely out in the cold.
Take your chance to experience an adrenaline-filled winter activity in the beautiful Arctic landscapes of Finnish Lapland, and search for one of the earth's most spectacular light shows. Book your Northern Lights chase by snowmobile in Pyhäjärvi today!
