Dog Sledding under the Northern Lights from Rovaniemi

Rovaniemi is the largest city in Lapland, situated in northern Finland. This excursion begins at the starting point in Rovaniemi, where you will meet your experienced guide. The tour takes place in the evening after the sun has set, when the Lappish winter night becomes shrouded in darkness. The guide will bring you to meet the friendly husky dogs native to the area, before it’s time for your sleigh ride adventure!

You will receive a safety briefing and get set up in a comfortable sled, which will be pulled by a team of dogs. Under the instruction of the guide, the Huskies will pull your sled across the snow-covered terrain and into the stunning wilderness. You will enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the forest at nighttime. As you ride, the night sky will come alive with the light from the moon and thousands of stars. If you’re lucky, the mesmerising dance of the Aurora Borealis will also appear in the sky above you.

After the dog sledding adventure, you will return to the starting point. When you return, you'll warm up with delicious hot blueberry juice around an open fire. As you continue to admire the Northern Lights, your guide will share tales about this natural phenomenon, as well as stories about life in Lapland. When you have finished, the guide will transport you back to Rovaniemi.
