Northern Lights Snowmobile Safari from Rovaniemi

Please allow 2 hours in total for this activity.

• Arrive at the meeting point 30 minutes in advance or take the transfer if your hotel is listed as offering transfer
• Meet your experienced local guide
• Suit up in your thermal clothing and gear
• Safety briefing and introduction to snowmobiling
• Set off on a 1.5 hour snowmobile adventure near Rovaniemi
  (route may vary depending on weather, snow, and trail conditions)
• Stop along the way to admire the Northern Lights, take photos, and switch drivers
• Continue your snowmobile ride through the winter landscape
• Return to base for debriefing and equipment drop-off
• Transfer back if your hotel is listed in the pick up

Snowmobile drivers must be at least 18 years old and hold a category B driver's license, written in Latin Italics and valid in Finland. Please bring the physical copy with you on the day of the activity (digital versions and photographs will not be accepted).

Minimum height to be a passenger: 140 cm. Children reaching this height can take part as passenger if they pay the adult price.

Please arrive 30 minutes before the start of your safari. Be on time, as refunds will not be issued for late arrivals or no shows.

Solo travellers or participants in groups with odd numbers might have to share a snowmobile with someone from another party.

It is strictly prohibited to drive a snowmobile under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Snowmobiles are shared between 2 participants. To arrange single riding, please contact your guide in advance or ask on the spot. Single driving is subject to availability.

Please be advised that since the Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon, their presence is never guaranteed.

This activity is not suitable for pregnant women.

The Safari Center is located 10 minutes driving by the Rovaniemi city center. If pick-up from your hotel isn't available, there is the possibility to catch a bus, which is 20 minutes from the city center.

Many guides also speak other languages, like French, Dutch, Spanish, German, and Finnish. Guiding in a specific language can be arranged upon request for an additional fee and is subject to availability. Please note that it cannot be guaranteed unless requested in advance.

- Ounasvaara Chalets, Antinmukka 4 (70 min before the start)
- Arctic TreeHouse Hotel, Tarvantie 3 (40 min before the start)
- City Center: Wild Nordic Rovaniemi Pick Up Point - Valtakatu 35, 96200 on the sidewalk along Valtakatu street, there will be Wild Nordic sign (50 min before the start)

Please contact your guide upon confirmation to arrange the pick up location and time.

The driver of each vehicle is responsible for any damages caused to the snowmobile. The standard self-liability amount is a flat rate of €900 per driver / snowmobile / accident, regardless of the extent of the damage.

Please note that Wild Nordic cannot accept liability for personal injury or material damage occurring during excursions other than snowmobiling. We strongly recommend obtaining personal travel insurance before participating.

You may reduce the self-liability amount to €200 per driver / accident by purchasing a Self-Liability Waiver from Wild Nordic for €20 per driver (available for short safaris lasting 1–4 hours).
