The picturesque city of Rovaniemi is the capital of Finnish Lapland, a region known for its Arctic landscapes and long, snowy winters. Rovaniemi is a wonderful winter wonderland that welcomes visitors from all over the world with diverse and unique adventures. Known as the "official" hometown of Santa Claus, this wonderful Arctic place is perfect for experiencing the magic of winter sports, with diverse experiences such as snowmobiling, reindeer sleigh rides, and much more.
On the day of your snowmobile and dog sledding excursion from Rovaniemi, you'll have the opportunity to be picked up by your instructor within a 10-kilometre radius of Rovaniemi's city centre. There, you'll meet your expert instructor, who will distribute the thermal overalls, snow boots, beanies, mittens and other winter apparel necessary to stay safe during the experience. You'll then be transported to the starting point of the adventure.
The instructor will distribute the snowmobiles and teach you how to drive or ride them, clarifying safety protocols to follow in order to have a great time. Then, it's time to go! Then, you'll take a well-deserved break with a delicious hot salmon soup, fresh bread and hot drinks, the perfect way to enjoy the Arctic atmosphere. Then, it's time for the second section of the adventure. An expert musher (dog sled driver) will teach you exactly how to direct a team of huskies, and once you feel prepared, you'll set off on a wonderful 5-kilometre dog sledding ride across Finnish Lapland.
