Immerse yourself in the Arctic Atmosphere of Finnish Lapland and discover three different winter activities in one evening on this amazingreindeer, husky, and Northern Lights experience in Rovaniemi! As the capital of the Finnish Lapland region, Rovaniemi is known worldwide for its stunning Arctic landscapes and as the "official" hometown of Santa Claus. Its strategic location, just above the Arctic Circle, allows it to have incredibly snowy winters and also have Northern Lights sightings throughout September and April.
On the day of your reindeer, husky, and Northern Lights experience from Rovaniemi, you'll have the chance to be picked up in several different places within a 12-kilometre radius of the city centre (please specify when booking). You'll be driven to Santa's Village, where you'll meet your expert instructor. They'll explain exactly how the activity will work and where you should go first.
The experience will start as you meet Santa's reindeer! When you get back to the village, it's time for a little adrenaline rush with a 500-kilometre dog sled ride with the incredible huskies that live right next to Santa's Village. You'll finish the day right back where you started, with wonderful memories of your morning in Santa's Village.
At night, near 20h00 (8 pm), you'll be picked up again and head to a secluded spot, surrounded by the forest and near a frozen Arctic lake, where your instructor will build a fire inside a traditional Kota. You'll search for the Northern Lights in the dark, then head inside to warm up and grill delicious sausages and marshmallows, accompanied by hot berry juice. You'll return to your accommodations with incredible memories (and photos) of a triple activity in Finnish Lapland.
Please keep in mind that temperatures in the Arctic can range between 5 to -30 degrees Celsius. This means that you should come prepared to the experience with a thermal underlayer, wool or fleece mid-layers, and wind and waterproof outerwear.
