Course of events
You should plan to spend around 2.5 hours on this activity:
- 16:30 (December and January), 17:30 (February), or 18:30 (March) - Arrival at the meeting point and introduction to your instructor (at least 30 minutes before the starting time)
- Equipment distribution
- Safety and activity briefing
- 17:00 (December and January), 18:00 (February), or 19:00 (March) - Start of your 2-hour (approximately 2-kilometer) snowshoeing excursion from Vuokatti
- 5-minute transfer to the snowshoeing trailhead
- Get used to the snowshoes as your instructor gives you tips to walk in the snow
- Listen to interesting facts about the area's history and nature as you walk and search for the Northern Lights
- Take a break to enjoy some hot drinks and snacks
- Return to the meeting point
- 19:00 (December and January), 20:00 (February), or 21:00 (March) approximately - Return the equipment and end of the activity

Please arrive at the meeting point at least 30 minutes prior to your departure time, as indicated in the itinerary.
All children must be accompanied by an adult.
Being in relatively good physical condition is required to take part in this activity. You should be able to hike around 2 km.

On the day of your evening snowshoeing excursion from Vuokatti, you'll need to arrive at the meeting point in the Vuokatti Safaris headquarters at least 30 minutes before your departure time. There, you'll meet your expert instructor, who will distribute the snowshoes and poles to all participants and give you a quick but thorough instruction on how to snowshoe, as well as how to stay safe throughout the experience.
Once you're ready, it's time to go! Your evening snowshoeing adventure in Vuokatti will start as you take a short walk into the forest and get to practice and adjust to the movements and techniques of snowshoeing. When you're comfortable, the experience will truly start. You'll be led by an expert instructor with a flashlight and walk across a snowy, frozen landscape. You will constantly look up to the sky in search of beautiful stars, and if you're very lucky, you'll get to spot the Northern Lights.
