- Learn the basics of ski touring in a safe environment

- Meet at 9:00 AM at Col de l’Encrenaz (1,430 m), in the commune of La Côte d’Arbroz, about 20 minutes from Les Gets and Morzine
- Welcome by Sofia, your instructor; presentation of the route, ski touring gear check, and safety briefing
- Intro to ski touring: how to use climbing skins, adjust bindings, and manage your effort during the ascent
- Begin a gentle, progressive climb toward Col de la Basse at a relaxed pace
- Along the way, Sofia shares tips on uphill technique, terrain reading, and basic mountain safety
- The route starts in the forest and opens onto wide alpine terrain with breathtaking views of Mont Blanc, the Aravis range, Morzine/Avoriaz, and the Dents du Midi in Switzerland
- Break at the top to take in the scenery, ask questions, and review what you’ve learned
- Sofia will then adapt the descent or loop route based on the group’s energy and preferences
- Return to Col de l’Encrenaz expected around 12:30 PM
A minimum level of parallel skiing (equivalent to 2nd star or basic intermediate) is required to take part in this activity.
Please arrive 15 minutes before the start of the activity.
Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
Ski touring equipment and avalanche safety gear (DVA) are not provided. You must rent them in advance (estimated budget: €50 to €100 per person). Tip: renting gear in the valley (Thonon, Annemasse) is often cheaper than in resort.
This is a private activity: the price is the same whether you come alone or with a group (up to 6 people).
