To the west of Rangiroa in the Tuamotu archipelago, Tikehau is one of the most famous atolls for its diving sites, home to an incredible wealth of underwater flora and fauna. So it is a highly recommended spot for your very first scuba dive, not least because of its clear, warm waters (27°C on average all year round). There are 2 options: a first dive with the manta rays of Tikehau or a first dive in the Tuheiava Pass. The experience with the manta rays is one of the most unusual, taking place at their cleaning station in the lagoon, where they are regularly seen, alongside black-tip sharks, turtles and triggerfish; whereas the experience in the Tuheiava Pass allows you to observe a greater diversity of species: reef fish, turtles, humphead wrasses, etc.
For this first dive at Tikehau, you will be immersed for around 30 minutes, to a depth of 6 metres. Each instructor will accompany a maximum of 1 to 2 divers, the ideal way to get personalised supervision in complete safety. You will discover the surprising sensations of scuba diving, from the absence of gravity to the silence beneath the surface and breathing through a regulator. All this in the superb underwater setting of Tikehau, which you will be able to enjoy to the full once you are comfortable in this new environment.
Whether you opt for a first dive with manta rays or a first dive in the Tuheiava Pass, your experience will provide you with unforgettable memories of the underwater world of French Polynesia. So why not take to the water with Raie Manta Diving in Tikehau?
