Salakos is a small, picturesque village at the foot of Profitis Ilias, located on the northwestern side of Rhodes. The mountain itself stands 798 meters tall (2.618 feet), and it looks out into the Aegean Sea, the Turkish coastline, and a few nearby islands.

On the day of your sunset hike up Profitis Ilias, you'll have two options to reach the meeting point; you can either get there yourself or choose the option with transportation, be picked up at your accommodations, and be driven there. And when everyone is ready, you'll set off!

Your sunset hike up Profitis Ilias from Salakos will be divided into sections. First, you'll hike up to the Italian constructions built by Italian colonists between 1929 and 1932, known as Elafos, Elafina, and Villa de Vecci. You'll also visit the Byzantine church that gives the mountain its name: Profitis Elias. After a short tour, you'll continue the hike until you reach a perfect viewpoint to observe the sunset, eat a small traditional Rhodes snack, and take some incredible photos. Finally, you will return to the original meeting point and, if you chose the option with transportation, be driven back to your accommodations.

This is an easy-level hike, but it still requires a relatively good physical condition to complete.
