Anse Noire, Anse Dufour, Pointe de la Baleine, the Salomon Gardens, Abricot Cove, Pointe Burgos, etc., the south-west coast of Martinique is full of turquoise-water spots teeming with marine life and vegetation to explore with fins, mask and snorkel. And although several of these places are accessible on your own, nothing quite compares to a guided snorkelling excursion from Les Trois-Îlets, alongside professional guides who know the best places to go depending on the season and the day’s weather. You will not only benefit from an educational support tool (Pictolife) to help identify the species you encounter, but also from boat access to the snorkelling site, allowing you to enjoy it fully and away from the usual crowds!
The boat you will board (either a catamaran or a monohull) is fully equipped for your comfort, with a bimini for shade, a rear platform with 2 ladders for easy access to the water, a fresh-water shower and more. In around 20 to 30 minutes, it will take you from Les Trois-Îlets to your snorkelling spot, where you will find water averaging 28°C, along with remarkable marine life: reef fish, corals, sponges and, very often, turtles too! There is no need for full diving equipment, a simple mask and snorkel are more than enough to observe the vibrant life thriving between 3 and 6 metres deep. What’s more, a guide will be at your side to point out where to look so that you don’t miss a thing beneath the surface!
In total, you will spend between 1.5 and 2 hours snorkelling near Les Trois-Îlets and Les Anses-d’Arlet, with part of the activity possible independently if you wish. Open to children from 8 years old, and suitable even for those who cannot swim, provided they are comfortable in the water, this excursion offers a wonderful family-friendly introduction to the underwater world of the Caribbean Sea!
