Your 4-hour beginners scuba diving course with the PADI certified instructors at ProDive starts at the ProDive centre where you will be given a brief introduction to the basic safety, rules and techniques of scuba diving including how to use the scuba equipment, the foundational hand signs to use underwater, and what to do in cases of emergency. From there, you will head to the pool to get more familiar with the scuba equipment underwater. In the pool you will practise breathing, levelling your buoyancy, and taking off your mask underwater so that you are prepared for any situation when it's time to hit the open water.

Once you are comfortable scuba diving in the swimming pool, it will finally be time to head to the open ocean to check out the incredible array of marine mammals in Plettenberg Bay! Along with your guide, you will head out to the beautiful reefs of Plettenberg to experience scuba diving in the ocean – there is truly no place more idyllic than here to be initiated into scuba diving!

The 4 hour course follows the official PADI course structure and both your ocean dive and pool session will count towards the PADI Open Water Diver certification.
