Practical information
Canyoning is an exciting outdoor activity that combines hiking, swimming, jumping, and abseiling down riverbeds shaped by centuries of erosion. This beginner-friendly experience is perfect for families, groups of friends, or anyone looking to discover canyoning for the first time – no previous experience needed!
This region of Girona, in addition to its crystal-clear coves and picturesque villages along the Costa Brava, is also known for its beautiful inland landscapes. Among them stands out the Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park, home to 38 volcanic cones and around 20 lava flows. Tucked within this unique setting are several spectacular canyons, making it an ideal place to try canyoning in Girona.
Nestled in the Guilleries Massif, this canyon offers a gentle yet exhilarating descent through wild nature. Surrounded by lush vegetation and dramatic rock formations, you’ll follow the course of the Fluvià River as you walk, swim, slide down natural chutes, and navigate a series of small obstacles.
The descent includes three easy abseils, four optional jumps, and several smooth natural slides – all adapted to different levels of comfort. Your certified guide will start with a full safety briefing, explaining how to move through the canyon safely using the harness, rope, and helmet. Once the adventure begins, they’ll accompany you every step of the way to ensure a safe and memorable experience.
Suitable for participants aged 10 and above, this is a fantastic way to cool off, connect with nature, and feel the thrill of a new adventure.
Come and enjoy your first canyoning experience in Girona, in one of Catalonia’s most beautiful natural settings!
