Set off on a snowmobile from Kiruna and enjoy an unforgettable night in an igloo in the heart of Swedish Lapland!
Snowmobiles are shared between two participants — one driver and one passenger — with opportunities to switch roles during the ride. You may also choose to book as a solo driver if you prefer to ride alone.
No previous snowmobile experience is required.
- Snowmobiles: 4-stroke, 600cc models with heated handlebar grips

Course of events
DAY 1
- Please arrive at the meeting point in Kiruna at least 30 minutes before the departure time
- Meet your experienced guide
- Scenic transfer to the departure point

- Receive thermal overalls, winter boots, and a helmet
- Safety and itinerary briefing
- Introduction to snowmobiling and snowmobile driving techniques
- Snowmoniling excursion of approximately 1.5 to 2 hours
- Set out into the wilds of Swedish Lapland in search of the Northern Lights
- Break
- Return to the quinzee igloo (snow dome)
- Campfire dinner: potato gratin with moose meatballs and blueberry pie (vegetarian/vegan/gluten free options are available too)
- Relaxing evening under the stars
- Cosy night in an igloo
DAY 2
- Pack your belongings
- Breakfast
- Return to the original departure point in Kiruna
Activity requirements
Snowmobile drivers must be at least 18 years old and hold a full, valid driver's license. Please bring the original copy with you on the day of the activity.
Children under the age of 13 sit in a sled pulled by the guide. Children under the age of 5 require an adult to sit in the sled with them.
Please arrive at the meeting point in Kiruna at least 30 minutes before the start time.

Please note that the pricing is per person and is for 2 people who share a snowmobile with the option of taking turns driving.
Also, tours that take place between December 24th and January 6th are priced at an additional 300 SEK/person.
Since the Northern Lights are an unpredictable natural phenomenon, their presence is never guaranteed.
The total duration of this experience is approximately 20 hours.
The dining hall located near the igloo has dry toilets, electricity and is at room temprature the whole night. There are also water toilets and a shower around 400 metres away from the igloo.

This remarkable family-friendly excursion begins at the meeting point in Kiruna, where you and your group are greeted by your knowledgeable guide. Next, you'll board the vehicle and depart on the scenic transfer to the departure point of your snowmobile excursion in Lapland. Upon arrival, you'll receive a thermal suit, winter boots, and a helmet. After a safety and itinerary briefing, the group will be provided with an introduction to snowmobiling and snowmobile driving techniques. Children under the age of 13 are pulled in a sled behind the guide's snowmobile and little adventurers under 5 require an adult to be present with them in the sled.
Once the group is comfortable, the fun starts! You'll set out in the wilds of Swedish Lapland, snowmobiling in Kiruna, traversing a frozen river in search of the Northern Lights with only the lights of the snowmobiles and the stars overheard lighting the way. En route, you'll stop to savour the tranquillity of nature and take amazing photos. Returning to the igloo campsite, you'll be treated to a delicious campfire Nordic dinner. Throughout the overnight igloo experience with snowmobiling from Kiruna, your instructor will also share fascinating insights into local culture, nature, and the Northern Lights.
After a relaxing evening, you'll sleep soundly in your igloo with cosy insulated Arctic sleeping bags.
