What are the activities to do in Gap?
Gap is a French city located in the region Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, the capital of the Hautes-Alpes. It was elected in 2013 the sportiest city in France making it a must-go destination for all thrill seekers!
Gap is located only 15 km from the famous climbing routes of Ceuze cliffs, popular with climbers of all levels. It is an essential activity to get some height and discover the wild Alps under your feet! To climb the walls, it is also possible to opt for Via Ferratas which are a good way to get some fresh air and discover beautiful views on the twenty existing routes in the Hautes Alpes.
What's better, when the warm weather arrives, than to discover the mountain and get back in shape on the hiking trails and go mountain biking on the Balcony of Gapençais in the Champsaur or the more technical downhill slopes of Charance! Gap is also one of the only sites in France to have arranged spots for Trail practice and training in the mountains of Charance... A unique opportunity to discover this challenging sport.
With the return of the sun and melting snow, of course, comes the time for white water activities and for this you can go into the rapids of the Durance or the Drac.
In winter, Gap is ideally located to access the many ski resorts in the Hautes Alpes. Whatever the season, whatever your preference, you will find your happiness!
