Course of events

Activity requirements
This is a high-level activity, and being in good physical condition is required to participate. Experience in trails with an accentuated slope is recommended. For adults over 65 years old and who are not used to practicing physical activities, Tripix Azores reserves the right to request a physical exam and a respective medical certificate to guarantee the health conditions to perform the mountaineering activity.
All minors must be accompanied by an adult.
You cannot participate in this activity if you have gone diving less than 24 hours before it starts.
Special terms
The permits to Mount Pico get sold out very fast in the high season (end of May to mid September). An early booking is advised to better guarantee availability from the provider.
This activity is not recommended for pregnant or disabled people.
Please note that the duration and itinerary of the activity are weather-dependent.
Pets are not permitted to join in this activity.
In case you have a drone, you must register at the ANAC website (Portuguese Civil Aviation Authority) and inform your instructor that you'll be bringing it.
There will be a fee of 10€/each for damaged hiking poles.

Ilha de Pico is the second biggest island of the Archipel, and inside it lies the tallest mountain in Portugal, Mount Pico, which stands 2,350 meters tall.
This incredible night climbing excursion up Mount Pico is an ideal activity for experienced climbers, who have good physical condition and some experience in steep trails. The climb is done mostly in the dark, which adds a level of difficulty, and good physical condition and determination are key. Once you book your night climbing excursion up Mount Pico, you'll need to arrive at Casa da Montanha (Mountain House), in the middle of Ilha de Pico, to meet your instructor and get all geared up with your headlamp and hiking poles. From there, the excursion will start in the dark and you'll ascend, step by step, over volcanic rock and rugged terrain!
You'll follow an expert instructor who will guide and help you throughout the experience, and who knows the mountain like the back of their hand. You'll be able to enjoy seeing the unobstructed stars and challenging your body until, at around 5 to 6 am, you will reach the summit and experience one of the most wonderful sunrises of your life.
