Surfing Lesson at Famara Beach, Lanzarote

Please allow about 5 hours for the whole experience.

• Reception at the surf school in Caleta de Famara
• Distribution of surf equipment (wetsuit, board, leash and rash guard)
• Walk to Famara beach (or transport by van if necessary) to reach the surf spot
• Warm-up session on the beach (approx. 15 minutes)
• Theoretical instruction on the beach (15 to 30 minutes spread over the course): basic surfing techniques, in particular how to paddle, stand on the board and keep your balance; point on safety in the water
• Practice session in the water under the supervision of instructors (approx 2.5 hours), with 45 minutes of break
• Lesson debriefing
• Return to the surf school to store the equipment and change your clothes (you can shower on site), then end of the activity around 2 p.m.

For beginners:

• have a correct surfing position;
• get to know different types of footwork;
• basic balancing techniques;
• know how to turn the board;
• learn paddling techniques;
• knowing how to catch and surf uninterrupted waves, etc.

For intermediate/experienced surfers:

• perfect your acceleration techniques;
• keep your body balanced during manoeuvres;
• turning up and down, etc.

All participants must know how to swim to take part in this activity.

Written parental authorisation is required for minors to participate in this activity without an accompanying adult.

You must not have any medical contraindications to take part in this activity: please inform the team if you have any medical condition likely to affect your ability to surf.

This activity is not accessible to pregnant people.

Pets are not permitted to join in this activity.
