A guided outing of around 2.5 hours to observe the seals of the Baie de Somme at the Pointe du Hourdel.
- Observation of the 2 seal species present in the Baie de Somme: the grey seal and the harbour seal
- A 3-km walk at a pace adapted to the group, perfectly suited to families with young children
- An educational and responsible approach, alongside a professional guide with a passion for the bay
Course of events
Please allow around 2 hours and 45 minutes for the whole experience.
- Meeting with the guide at the Promenade en Baie chalet, 10 minutes before the start of the activity (paying car park)
- Presentation and briefing on the activity and safety instructions (approx. 10 minutes)
- Departure for a 2.5-hour hike to the pointe du Hourdel:
- walk towards the bay, reading the landscape and discovering the salt meadows (10 to 15 minutes)
- additional safety point before descending to the sands for a 20 to 30-minute walk
- arrival at the seal-watching area in the Baie de Somme and selection of the ideal viewing spot (approx. 15 minutes)
- observation of the animals and discussion with the guide for 30 to 40 minutes
- walk back to the starting point (25 to 35 minutes)
- Back at the chalet, debriefing of the experience with local recommendations, if you wish, and end of the activity

Please arrive 10 minutes before the start of the activity.
A minimum of 4 participants is required to run this activity.
