About the activity

Teahupoo Wave is one of the most famous waves in the world for many reasons, including its razor-sharp coral reef breaks and its incredible consistency in producing massive barrels. Often described by the media as one of the “deadliest waves in the world,” it is also the setting for the Teahupoo World Surf League international competition. It is therefore a must-see spot in Tahiti! And what better way to experience it than on a boat excursion to Teahupoo Wave, alongside a local team who will share all their knowledge about this iconic location in French Polynesia?

The Teahupoo Wave takes its name from the small village it breaks in front of on Tahiti Iti (Little Tahiti). In fact, it is from this marina that you will board the twin-hulled catamaran, which will take you closer to the Teahupoo Wave for around 1 hour. Along the way, and during stops near the wave (between 10 and 30 metres, depending on weather conditions, to ensure your safety), your guide will tell you more about the spot, sharing stories that have contributed to its international fame. Depending on conditions, you may even have the chance to witness a world-class surfing session!
