Book an enjoyable and informative bike tour around the Bay of Kotor, visiting the villages of Cetinje, Bukovica, Njeguši and Kotor in Montenegro!

Montenegro is a small but beautiful country located in Southeastern Europe on the Balkan Peninsula. It is renowned for its stunning natural landscapes and rich historical significance. The Bay of Kotor is situated in southwestern Montenegro on the Adriatic Sea. The picturesque bay features deep blue waters surrounded by lush greenery and towering mountains. There are many historical sites and medieval villages dotted along the coast. This bike tour is a great way to explore the scenic countryside of Kotor Bay!

For the trip, you’ll begin with a pick-up from your accommodation around Kotor Bay (please specify your location upon booking). The guide will drive you to the starting point at Cetinje, a historic town located in the mountainous region of Montenegro, often referred to as the "Old Royal Capital" of the country. You’ll receive a quick safety briefing and your equipment (bike, helmet and gloves) before setting off on your biking adventure!

Cetinje features beautiful monuments, promenades and nature under the huge mountain Lovćen. It was the former capital city of Montenegro, founded in the 15th century. The town is home to numerous cultural and historical landmarks, including museums, monasteries, churches, and palaces. You’ll cycle up to the local village of Bajice, through Dubovik, finally reaching Bukovica, a region in Montenegro known for its picturesque landscapes, traditional villages, and rich cultural heritage.

At Bukovica, you’ll break to enjoy a traditional food tasting of Montenegrin specialties (prosciutto and cheese), while taking in the stunning scenery. The guide will explain the process of the food’s production. After your meal, you’ll continue cycling, heading downhill to Njeguši – the most famous Montenegrin village. Njeguši is nestled in the Dinaric Alps, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and the Bay of Kotor below. The village is surrounded by lush forests, meadows, and rocky cliffs. You’ll cycle through the village, passing by the house where Peter II Petrović Njegoš was born.

The ride will continue towards the coastal region, where you will have a fantastic panoramic view of the coastline. After a short photo break, you’ll embark on the famous Lovćen Serpentine Road. This is a scenic mountain road that leads from the coastal town of Kotor to the summit of Mount Lovćen. It is renowned for its stunning panoramic views of the Bay of Kotor, as it winds its way up the steep slopes of Mount Lovćen. You’ll cycle until you reach the town of Kotor.

Kotor is a stunning coastal town and historical site. Kotor's Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is renowned for its well-preserved medieval architecture. It features narrow cobblestone streets, charming squares, and historic buildings dating back to the Venetian period. You’ll admire the impressive city walls and beautiful scenery, before the bike tour comes to an end. The guide will then transfer you back to your accommodation.

This enjoyable bike ride is the perfect excursion to discover historical villages in Kotor Bay while admiring the breathtaking views!
