Discover interesting landmarks and villages around Kotor Bay in Montenegro on a private boat cruise, including the iconic Blue Cave attraction!

Montenegro is a small but beautiful country located in Southeastern Europe, on the Balkan Peninsula. The country boasts a diverse coastline along the Adriatic Sea, characterised by picturesque bays, sandy beaches, and historic towns. Kotor Bay is one of the bays located in southwestern Montenegro, renowned for its stunning natural beauty, narrow winding channels, small villages, and historic landmarks.

This is a private tour for groups of up to 18 people, offering a truly unique experience! The trip begins with pick-up from your accommodation around Kotor Bay (please specify your location upon booking). The experienced guide will drive you to Tivat, a coastal town surrounded by the deep blue waters of Kotor Bay and lush greenery from the surrounding mountains. Tivat is home to Porto Montenegro, a luxury yacht marina and residential development.

At the port, you’ll board the comfortable cruise ship and set sail from Kotor Bay, heading towards Mamula Island. You’ll sail past some submarine tunnels and the nautical complex Porto Novi. When you arrive at Mamula, the captain will circle around the island so you can admire the surroundings. Mamula is a small uninhabited island known for its historical significance and distinctive fortress. The largest part of the island is occupied by the Mamula Fortress, which was built by the Austro-Hungarian Empire in the 19th century. During World War II, the fortress was used as a prison camp, gaining notoriety for its harsh conditions and mistreatment of prisoners.

Soon, you will arrive at the Blue Cave, a natural sea cave located near the coastal town of Herceg Novi in Montenegro. It is situated on the Lustica Peninsula, which is renowned for its rugged coastline and scenic beauty. The cave is named after the striking blue hue of its waters, which is created by the reflection of sunlight entering through an underwater opening in the cave. Here, you’ll have some time to swim in the azure waters and explore the cave, an unforgettable experience!

After the Blue Cave, the boat cruise will continue, sailing past the Arza Fortress and the island where the Church of the Holy Mother of God is located. The captain will sail to Mirista Bay, a beautiful coastal area located on the Lustica Peninsula. The boat will anchor near Mirišta Beach and you’ll have time for another refreshing swim in the turquoise waters. After relaxing in the tranquil setting, you’ll sail to the final stop on the tour, the fishing village of Rose.

Rose is renowned for its picturesque setting, traditional stone architecture, and peaceful atmosphere, a popular destination along the Adriatic coast. Rose is a typical Mediterranean village with family homes lined up along the dock. You’ll have some time to explore the town and learn about its history, it was once an ancient Greek settlement called ‘Punto Roza’, which was destroyed by the Arabs in 867. You can enjoy an optional lunch in one of the restaurants, or take a walk along the scenic seafront. Finally, you’ll sail back to Tivat before your return transfer to your accommodation.
